Landscape Photographs of Polar and Subpolar landscapes by Michael Seebeck. These landscape photographs have been captured on visits to Antarctica, and include images of Subantarctic Islands.
Antarctica is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places on Earth. Nowhere else on the planet is there such vast areas of oceanic and terrestrial wilderness, largely untouched by man. Life exists there pretty much as it has been for millions of years, and despite the hostile conditions for much of the year, Antarctica supports a myriad of species, all well adapted to these conditions through millions of years of evolution. The Antarctic Treaty helps to ensure continuing restrictions on mankind’s activities there, but many countries now want to exploit the perceived ‘riches’ of Antarctica; it would be tragic if this were to happen.
I sincerely hope my images do the beauty of Antarctica some justice; these are just a small selection of the images I have in my library.Click on “HIDE MENU” below to peruse the gallery images in full widescreen size, or click on each image to enlarge it.
